For the big picture, we’ve also got a list of some things you can do every year that will keep your happy lifestyle going strong and long!

STOP SMOKING. This falls into every category: now, weekly, monthly, yearly. No ifs, ands or buts–it’s a must. If anyone in the family smokes, it’s time to work together to end it once and for all. Check out our tips.

MAKE AND GO. Annual checkups with your doctor, dentist and eye doctor for everybody in the family help stop problems when they are small–or before they start!

WEIGH IN. Everybody in the family should tackle this foundation for health. If some members are at a healthy weight and others need to lose, ask those who need to lose how the others can help, and make it a family action plan.

GET VACCINATED. Keep kids up to date on immunizations and make sure everyone gets the influenza shot or Flumist® each fall.

SUMMER SMARTS. We love it, but the truth is, summer can wreak havoc on sleep and good nutrition, with ice cream, potato salad and too many picnic snacks. Create a basic plan with screen time, activity time, snack management and quality sleep. You’re all in it together!
