Seventeen thousand people raced through the streets of Grand Rapids, Michigan, during the 41st annual Fifth Third River Bank Run.
Another 40,000 spectators joined the event as participants ran, hand-cycled and wheeled 25K, 10K and 5K competitions. A 5K community walk offered a less strenuous challenge.
Here are the top finishers in each event:
25K run – Aliphine Tuliamuk was the first woman to cross the finish line. Sam Chelanga won the men’s division.
10K run – Isaac Mukundi won the men’s division. McKenzie Diemer was the top woman finisher.
5K run – Clara James-Heer, an 11-year-old from Grand Rapids, won the women’s race. Isaac Mukundi won the men’s race before winning the 10K as well.
25K wheelchair – Aaron Pike, Savoy, Illinois.
25K hand cycle – Tom Davis, Fremont, Indiana.
The Orthopedic Urgent Care clinic, 4100 Lake Drive SE, Suite 300, Grand Rapids, Michigan, is open 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment. Walk-in care is offered 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays (no appointment needed).
