Runners in the 2016 Spectrum Health Irish Jig wore their greens and ran in brisk 30-degree weather—but without rain—to raise awareness about colorectal cancer.

The race Saturday, March 19, drew 4,077 participants, who ran the 5K race through the streets of East Grand Rapids.

“We had a wonderful turnout,” said Kelsey Haynes, of Spectrum Health community relations. “I’ve heard great positive response from participants. They really enjoyed it.”

The Spectrum Health Cancer Center sponsors the annual Irish Jig, now in its 33rd year. The event supports colorectal cancer screenings, prevention and diagnostic services.

The race results are posted online by Classic Race Management.
