Kevin Nichols poses for a photo and smiles.Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial is pleased to announce that Kevin Nichols has accepted the position of vice president, finance, Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial, effective December 8, 2014.

Kevin has worked in hospital finance with Spectrum Health for more than seven years. During the last six years he has been a system finance director in roles that support ambulatory services, business development, planning and analysis and capital planning. Kevin has extensive background in building business plans and developing strategies around new programs and the investments required to make the new programs a success.

“In his new position,” stated Gerber President and CEO, Randy Stasik, “Kevin will collaborate on hospital strategic planning, business prioritization and resource allocation processes. He will work in conjunction with Spectrum Health shared services in order to ensure that the hospital has adequate financial management support to achieve its goals.”

Kevin is passionate about corporate culture and team building. He believes that “culture trumps strategy” and creating the right culture for a team, department or organization is a leader’s number one priority.

Prior to Spectrum Health, Kevin spent seven years in finance at Zondervan Corporation, focusing on budgeting, forecasting and new product development. He began his career in public accounting after obtaining his CPA while working for Ernst & Young and Rehmann Group. Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Hope College.
